Female entrepreneurs are some of the most amazing creatures on the planet. They are busy building empires, helping others, raising a family, doing all the things... yet too often, we put ourselves last on the list. If we’re not careful, we become stressed out, exhausted and on the road to burn out.
The Forces of Nature Retreat is a 6-day, 5-night experience in a tropical paradise, where the top priority is helping you get back in touch with who you truly are, so you can continue to grow your amazing vision and your impact on the world.
We know that when we take time to reset and re-energize our souls and bodies, amazing things happen! We feel rested and nurtured, we increase our clarity, productivity and creativity. And we can truly be our best. So why don’t we do this more often?
Panama is a country in Central America that enjoys a warm tropical climate year-round. January is a warm and dry month typically so we enjoy sunny skies and gentle tropical breezes. Istmo Yoga and Adventure Retreat Centre is a tranquil oasis, far away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. It’s located about 1.5 hours from Tokumen International Airport and yet it’s a world away from the every day.
The Centre boasts seven standalone bungalows that sleep either two or four people each. They are clean and comfortable and each are outfitted with their own washroom, outdoor shower, air conditioning, fresh towels, mini fridge, and a porch with a hammock and jungle view.
Istmo also has its own spacious yoga pavilion that can easily accommodate up to 22 yoga students at one time. It is surrounded by windows on three sides so you can enjoy lush green views and the sounds of the tropical breeze and local wildlife.
The Centre also features plenty of space for you to explore and escape such as a meditation labyrinth, secluded walking trails, and an open-air lounge/dining area. A short walk will bring you to the sunny, sandy beaches of Playa Grande, which are often so quiet you’ll think it’s your own private beach!
Mindful movement is a wonderful way to feel our best. Which is why we incorporate a morning active yoga class and an evening relaxing class. Each class is designed to accommodate all yoga levels and modifications will be offered. We will work on strength, balance, flexibility and the mindfulness aspect of yoga. Our Instructor this year is Lea Pickard who specializes in mind-body connection and helping female entrepreneurs live their happiest, most fulfilled lives.
Lianne Kim will be leading us through a series of personal development exercises in her daily coaching sessions. This is a wonderful opportunity to look inward, and explore the woman behind the business. You will leave with some powerful new tools you can use to experience a heightened quality of life and intentional business growth.
There will be multiple opportunities to use the SUP boards on the retreat. On the first full day of the retreat, we will enjoy an introductory lesson, followed by an opportunity to take the boards out on the water. Stand up paddle boarding is a wonderful way to enjoy nature, and explore new challenges.
Istmo Retreat Centre will be providing abundant, healthful cuisine throughout the retreat. We will enjoy three hearty, plant-based meals every day. While the food is primarily vegetarian, eggs will be served every morning at breakfast, and dinner will include either chicken or fish each night.
Joining us this year is family nutritionist Allison Martineau of Sweet Pea Nutrition. Allison will be guiding us through a workshop helping us learn how to eat healthfully, to increase our energy and vitality. She will give us practical tools to help us incorporate healthy cooking and eating into our daily lives.
This year we also have Maria Velve, Green Beauty Expert joining us. Maria is going to be teaching us about how to be friendlier to our environment and ourselves when it comes to our beauty regime. We will enjoy the opportunity to try out various green beauty products and pamper ourselves!
Each year we offer optional excursions to the surrounding area, giving our guests an opportunity to experience the diverse landscape of Panama in new ways. They often include active pursuits such as hiking or swimming in stunning natural spaces. These excursions are optional and there is an additional costs for each one. We announce these excursions upon arrival in Panama, and guests can choose whether or not they wish to participate at that time.
Each year we offer optional massage therapy services to help you further relax and reduce stress. This year we are bringing our own RMT from the Toronto area, Chernell Bartholomew who is a gifted therapist with several years of experience. Insurance receipts provided upon request.
If you’re looking to enjoy sun and surf, the beach is just a few minutes’ walk away. Take a dip in the crystal waves or relax on the white-and-black sand.
If you prefer the shade, there are plenty of places to relax at the retreat center, such as the hammock pavilion, the walking trails, or your very own porch, each one equipped with a reading chair and hammock.
